Forgot to mention that they were LEGALY given out by banks for like 3 months or so. Those that got them that way are now criminals....
Pack it up Roosevelt we know you're just trying to trick us and get your coins back
If you ever have this coin, sell it to chynuh, they dont care about international laws 🤫
Imagine going thru grandma and grandpa attic and finding at least 1. Lol
trust apple pie the american dream, and you're free thinking individuals, sounds more like read repeat read repeat, you'll believe anything with enough pictures for proof
If you really had the best words, you'd know the correct pronunciation of "numistmatists".
PATHETIC script!!!! Just terrible!
Na there was 23 ,look at my eBay listing.
They arrested the British guy for what exactly? He had gotten the coin from the Egyptian guy and the Egyptian guy had the coin legally per the us govt.
I got a bunch of pennies I will sell them for a bargain
althe.info/number/ynTRYYaId4ehfLo/video
And how much tax payers money was used to hunt that coin down I wonder!!??
So the US wasted how many millions of dollars to get back $400....
Imagine being a collector and hearing; "the only coin of 22 that is legal to sell and own made in the year of the great depression"
Never use express vpn. seriously. very very bad.
I saw one...probably a fake
Ya know, imagine only feeling good about yourself by crapping on someone else's hobby or passion. Gee, my passion is historical and wow also retails value. Think about it. You may get a wheat penny as change from buying your daily coffee. You never know, your great grand parent may have also. Food for thought👍
seems so stupid. they could have just added the coins to the reserve without melting them down and valued them as just the gold content.
Bitcoin? Lol jk
Did you make this for very low IQ people?
According to this video, the single 1933 double eagle is no longer an illegal coin.
That's cool but how do they know it's authentic?
If these coins were procured through any transaction under terms of good faith, without any prior knowledge of any defect, encumbrance, or illegality related to the gold during the transaction, any claim by the government against said owners would be null and void. Any interference by the government against any transaction performed under good faith, or said owners, would be detrimental to the trustworthiness of the United States currency. On the other hand, any person in possession of coins, with direct or indirect involvement of the orgin theft, cannot reasonably act under terms of good faith to sell them publicly. With direct knowledge of the inherent defect of stollen property, as it pertains to the original crime, prevent any current possessors of said property from making.
Wow. 4:45 cool callback for Fenton the dog. Thought that particular viral was only a British obsession.
...but they were all deceived, for another coin was made
I have two of those coins 😳
0:57 its the Big Sad smh
Too waste such resources over 20 coins is the real crime here. Absolutely PATHETIC!!
Why did you include the commercial in your run time? Nobody watches those
FDR starred THIS mess.
What is the actual point of the gold reserve now that it doesn’t back the US dollar?
The US dollar is backed by economic output, not nothing. Aka it's backed by everything and all resources, not just a single object or material. Typical misunderstanding peddled by idiots that the Dollar is backed by nothing.
If only our government cared that much about fair elections!
I like the information this guy presents but his jokes make me wanna puke.
Money is not backed on trust. Spoils of war + the money you’re expected to pay in taxes before you die.
althe.info/number/m2OYf3t-lHxrebI/video Thanks for that great info 😋🤓
Pirates of the Caribbean backstory
A lot of work for hunting down coins which only had an original value of $20 wouldn't you say?
Somewhere out there, there's a very rich and illegal couch
Literally no one has ever called the great depression, "the big bummer". You halfwit.
Uncle Sam is the penultimate criminal. "Hippity hoppity what's rightfully yours is now my property".
"You're not allowed to hoard gold." "Why not?" "Because we want to hoard it." "Understandable, have a good day."
*"It is **_expressily_** forbidden and 100% unlawful for the US government to have **_any_** US currency that is **_not_** backed by the standard issuance of gold and there can never be issued any new law which may, in fact, reverse this most fundamental of constitutions."* *- US Founding Fathers*
So no, regular Federal Reserve Notes were never backed by gold. We always have had a fiat (trust-backed) currency, although it was much closer to a "Tri-metallic" standard initially. The government began issuing paper currency on a large scale in 1861.The American "Gold Standard" refers to the codification of international agreement whereby trade value of currency has to be backed up by sufficient gold reserve, but there is not a direct relationship to the currency.... except for gold and silver certificates, which were expressly redeemable for gold and silver. in 1933, private ownership of gold was outlawed (except jewelery and collectible coins), but it was made legal again in 1974.
I really wasn’t expecting a gec reference
Wait so the US agreed to split the profits of the sale of that one coin? That right there should have been a red flag of illegality and all previous actions moot. Unbelievable greed.... I bet none of those coins were ever melted down.
So the sale allowed at auction legalized that one coin for personal ownership? And if you have alot of gold, can the fed still take it from you and if so, do you get fair market value, or are you sol?
Imagine if you were in vegas (yeah I know, all the coins have now been accounted for) and you had a small win on the slots, and it spat one of these out with the winnings. Unless you knew what it was, you'd be "ahh crap someone stuck some old coin in the hopper" You''d be none the wiser that the funny coin was worth millions ;)
They have to get them back that's the evidence the government stole our great-grandparents wealth gold. Why else spend millions and years of man hours hunting coins down. Could have said the hell with it we made them they weren't supposed to be in circulation but they are now enjoy.
I hope that was a joke a 1933 coin can not be inspired by a song released in 2017.
Why the attack on Tampa lol
If it was illegal to own it how and why did the government allow it to be sold to some unknown buyer at action so in reality it’s still illegal to own
@2:26 You're kidding? 😮 Who would steal gold?
"He got arrested because of a coin" 2020: tsk tsk tsk
@1:48 “Anyways” on an educational video = “Don’t recommend channel”. Do better.
Is my nazi coin illegal???
I was thinking of King Farouq’s coin
Dang.. so should I turn it in ?
Its the people's property not the government
The proper pronunciation of Comptroller is Controller.
They didn't get melted.
Bruh I would keep it hush until I'm so old that I can just say "screw it, you can have it back"
So it’s not illegal to own the coin anymore.
As always, another great video showing the absolute stupidity of the US Government.
Poorly written crap narrative
“We moved off the gold standard in 1971” LMFAO u mean the government moved off the good standard we didn’t move a damn thing!
BS video. We went from Gold Standard to the Petro Dollar in the 70's. Roosevelt was a closet communist. Nixon wsd hoodwinked by Kissinger and the rest is Federal Reserve History.
Umm.... This video is absolutely full of shit. Every now and then the U.S. mints new gold coins as keepsakes and collectors items. Also gold coins are sold in coin shops everyday and they are certainly not illegal. Owning gold is not illegal!
I only clicked this video to find out where I could get one. Edit: I have now watched the video and my disappointment is immeasurable.
i now want that coin
So it’s not illegal?
50$ says that anonymous buyer has the last name of rothschild..
IOW: only the government is allowed to break the law.
FDR was the president who git the ball rolling that made america the massive mess it is today. He made our currency worthless, he got blacks who just got there equality dependant on welfair. He was a racist monster who only cared about ensuring power for his party.

This video wasn't made to talk about political bullshit, go somewhere else.
The US dollar actually is worth less that the Venezuelan currency , but it’s enforced by the us army and the threats of war
FDR was a tyrant and one of the worst presidents we ever had!
It's illegal to own, but it's auctioned at sotheby's ... so it's illegal, but legal ... uh
Do you purposely pronounce all those words/names incorrectly? Because how difficult is it to make sure you're getting pronounciation right it's like your job to talk into a mic
Me *Flips coin in a well and forgets about it forever*
1933 bankruptcy, hjr 192 common Law remedy for gold confiscation
Too many ads. Got better things to do.
Haha someone probably showed me one once, but I didn’t & still don’t care
So the US Government try to arrests a person outside of The Us States from owning something I. The United States be illegal but outside of the United States it be legal wtf is wrong with the US Government yep it full of idiots
Looks as though Jesus was right again , give back to Cesar which is Cesar’s ( Or Amerika in this case 🙄)
Stupid Government spent millions of dollars chasing coins. $440 not a danger to he pyramid scheme of our current economy.
*2 missing no, undefined.*
Yet spending money on our people/veterans isn’t a priority. But a freaking coin is 🤣🤣
Double eagle also makes golfers jump for joy as well
Haha money printer go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Well...It seems your title is a bit off. While the coin may have been illegal to own at one time, in this video it is made clear that it no longer is. So it should be "Why this coin WAS illegal to own".
In other words the money made by the United States of America is worthless as well as the words of the Government. Look what they did to the Native Americans so I wouldn't trust the breath that comes out of any Government Officials mouth
This just proves the government is a waste of money
As someone from Tampa... you hurt me. lmao
Yall paying taxes for the Government to track coins
I laughed way to hard than I should have when he said brrrrrrr 🙄😂
This is bad... I CANT THINK OF A GOOD JOKE.
Ok, the last air bender reference gave me a chuckle... good job.
So basically there are 3 that are legal
Sooo. The government went thru all this trouble...to find and melt down these stolen coins...and in the end, they found and sued the owner of the coin saying its illegal to own...and their solution to the problem was to sell it? What happens if someone still has one or more that no one knows about..?
