You pronounce Zyzzyx incorrectly the first y sounds like a long I. A few people live and work there. There are classes at Zyzzyx regularly on archeology, history, photography and numerous other topics. I have given talks out there at the annual symposium and it is one of my favorite place in the desert. The movie crap though.

The movie could be a tax dodge. When you make such a movie and only produce such little profit, it can be written off as a loss and therefore keep the studio from paying anything in taxes.

It tells about how two Producers unscrupulously takes money from rich elderly widowed women who bankrolls a play guaranteed to flop so the profits could be pocketed and the IRS could not audit them since the play flopped and claimed as a financial loss.

First of all, it’s pronounced “zye-zix.” Second of all, it leads to an ecological research center that is very important for desert related ecosystems and animals. It isn’t just a random road people in SoCal love to laugh at on their way to Vegas 😉.
