Holy hell, a massive cock up caused by dumb ass EU rules? I'm shocked,,, SHOCKED I TELL YOU!!!
too much french very hard to follow ,who ordered the train and who had the stations
Not a bad thing in the long run. Once the job is done, it's done. All new trains can be wider in future. This has been happening in Britain for decades.
That still cheaper than the hundreds of thousands of $400 toiletseat the US. Military purchased during the 1980s
The over use of french detracted from this video.
*points to perfectly fitted tain in station. The french: This is brilliant! *points at train that doesn't fit. The french: But I like this
We do things solely so we can complain about them. Why is the rest of the world still surprised by this ;)
STOP THIS???!!!!?!!XNXOSNEJMVKENDIBWD
thick french choo choos
"A lot of words sound the same in English and French." *L’Académie française est entrée dans le bavardage.*
your wording is wrong . the old platforms were wider not narrower. the platform is where people stand. it was the trackspace that was narrower. even though it was a blunder , the old platforms would likely have to have been trimmed anyway. otherwise with the narrower trains there is too much gap between the modern platforms and the train
Why do they have a sideways Dutch flag under the arch?

I am not a Frenchman. But this is awful and hilarious 😂
Pathetic video 🦓🦓
Way too many France reference...🙄
How about how Queensland Australia bought and ran a Tilt Train that, was too narrow to tilt safely and tilted over hahaha.
This much frech is gonna last me for a lifetime
Good job Adam. word choice is on point!
I bet Putin like that in 2020 (if you get the joke)
Let me find out Adam isn’t a real person...
Similar thing happened in Melbourne, Australia. The new double-decker trains fit perfectly on theLilydale line, but were too all or any of the other metropolitan lines.
Hmmm another episode of incompetent politicians wasting tax payers money
Lmao your accent
the trains were too THICCCKQUE
Lol best ever
This was painful to listen to.
2:54 thats what she said.
Was this a train story or a french class on the beta version of skillshare??
As a non-european, This video got me headache. I didn't understand a single french word until it was spelled out. Even after that, I felt I was having a stroke because what's written can in no way be pronounced like he did, atleast according to my brain...
When Australia does this, they just pretend that they always intended to widen the tunnels that the trains don't fit through.

That sounds tragically hilarious.
It was logical for the EU to split the railroad company into trains and rails. With a single company --- NOT ENOUGH BUREAUCRACY.
*This is THE FIRST video I've watched from this channel where I've heard of the topic before*
Bravo 🤣
I always hated French in school, so this video hurts to watch

january 2020, before covid was, well, this
1:50 Thanks EU for ruining our railways the Netherlands too was forced to this too our trains kept having issues like delays and no amount of money was enough to keep the trains running
But the french trains still have 12hour delays so F
Sounds like they fixed a necessary problem. I don't see how some platforms being 8 in wider could have worked previously. That increases the Gap from the train to the platform by 4 in. We've had big issues here in New York with that problem. Even in England they talk about mind the gap. So that Gap is a big deal. I don't understand how it successfully existed before hand because 4 in is the additional Gap plus the given amount of leeway you're probably looking at a total of 10 to 12 inches of Gap which starts to become a great deal. Obviously this required some work to resolve but in the end they got a better solution.
Lmao
As a Frenchman, yes, it's funny when you say the entire name of the companies
I learnt these skills in 2020- 1)Stay At Home 2)French people thought that-"Why is our government dumber than a bucket of escargot" 3)French is funny 4)Sam speaking French is more funny.
Je trouve ça stupide
2:54 Thats what she said! Thats what she said! Thats what she said!!
You could say that the trains were, too thicc
Wide presidents Wide everything Wide french trains
Wait but if they built them the other way then all the wide tracks wouldn’t fit
It also happened in our country. The government bought a lot of trains but the problem is it's too heavy for the rail.
In Spain we have RENFE for the trains and ADIF for the rails lol
Don't feel too bad, Queensland rail did the same thing a couple of years ago as well as ordering trains that did not meet disability standards. They are still being rectified from the last one to add to the eye watering bill for grinding down platforms.
its kinda like when i was 5 i got a trackmaster train and i thoght they were gona fit on my wooden train tracks and it didnt so i just got a wooden train
The dumboos
Edit this down to about 70 seconds.
Jesus Christ, how stupid you should be to split rails and trains to separate companies? That's a disaster waiting to happen. And it did.
W I D E
Huh? how would a single train width work fine for both station track sizes??
I've dealt with engineers at my job and the ones who spend all day in an office and never really go out and check on things can retarded to deal with. I had an engineer once tell me I had to put a pipe somewhere, a 4 inch steel pipe for a couple of CAT-5 cables, but the issue was it was supposed to go into a 1 inch gap. It took nearly a WEEK to explain go him why it couldn't be done and he kept saying "it will fit" and his entire team refused to believe me. I ended up having to send multiple images from multiple people all showing why a 4 inch pipe couldn't for through the gap without cutting through things we really shouldn't cut. The engineering team ended up asking a minimum wage worker (me!) What we should do, to which I explained to them WE NEVER NEEDED A 4 INCH PIPE! It only needed to be 3/4" max because CAT-5 lines are tiny!
They never got a prototype to test?
Why the fuck does him speaking French make me laugh
Why the fuck does him speaking French make me laugh
if this happened in Canada, conservatives would start to make conspiracies on how the leftist socialist government are trying to kill people with wide trains...
This is how dumbasses think bilingual people talk
Fact: the French don't have a word for MIND THE GAP
The French measure width of traintracks in baguettes
What a crap video.
The Philippines bought trains and never used them.
wide putin
thicc trains
Well done on the French! French is very useful, like Latin.
THE FRENCH DONT KNOW HOW Xs WORK
As a Canadian who speaks (almost) fluent french, c’etait horrible, mais tres amusant!
Being French myself I congratulate you on your pronunciation of the French words.
I'm French (si si baguette) et franchement tes vidéos sont cools !!
For a Yank, your pronunciation is quite good....
I cannot handle this much french
4:04 that french flag is backwards, unless your from the 1780s
In short beuracracy strikes again
He sounds like an American teacher who is training to be a French teacher.
if they sound the same why is trains sound like "le ta"?
The content on this channel went from really entertaining and interesting to just annoying
I wanna watch How Country Bought 2,000 Trains But They Had No Tracks
nothing is ever too big for me ;)
Bonjour Sam, we love you.
Why must you torture the Educational ALthe man with THE FRENCH
le *t* *r* *a*
Ton français n'est pas pire
I didn't understand any of this with the french
A train is not a plane ? I would say that one is not true, as, in switzerland, we have trains that are planes: www.thelocal.ch/20200828/swiss-airline-switches-to-airtrain-service-between-geneva-and-zurich-airport (or planes that are trains ?)
Pre covid... Ahh
This video is a minefield of "that's what she said" jokes
Le Sam speaking French Me: wotdefok
I Was Watching This In The Background and It Switched To This Video And Im Extremely Confused
Damn! ur french is good
C’est la vie, pas grave
Not stonks
I died
I just learned that TGV means train of great speed
Australia also managed to pull this off, the train fit the tracks but the disabled bathrooms weren’t the correct size which meant they couldn’t fit wheelchairs...#railfail
And if they handy made this 'mistake' then on 6/7 stations there would have been a 20cm gap between the train and the platform.. that doesn't sound very nice either.
Really hated you pronouncing french words lost some respect for this channel
