U really need to update your video. I was in this particular city for 3 years and I live 20 minutes away now. It's not a ghost town anymore because a few schools and government buildings moved there as well as small businesses. What u have is ten years old information

Two million people in Ordos: so it could have been a 10 million city?
God, these film references are obnoxious.
Try the city under lake lanier its a evil backstory behind it
Probably is where the rest of people if the world dies lives when the goverments lowers the popukations
Meanwhile, people in Hong Kong lives in places smaller than a parking lot.
Dashlane sucks
world: demand then create china: create wait for demand
Having a party in the middle of a pandemic? How irrespon.... Awesome!
In a country like India with huge overpopulation and extremely shit infrastructure, cities like these would sell out in days. Literally!
Jesus Christ stop with the jokes they absolutely suck
So the city is not empty is just slowly growing.
#roobs
Folks r only peasants. No rest for the wicked no elite. Forget these losers and move the new world order forward. Batteries. U start leave others behind?
Chinese Government to Half as Interesting: You're a funny guy!! (fake-smiling like Xi Jinping)
NOW I REMEMBER, I DIDN'T INVITE ANYONE TO A PARTY, I DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS
I guess we Americans never really liked the metric system, but I was NOT informed on the cement per century measurement.
still don't know WHY????
the apartment buildings look like doug dimmadome's hat
Did anyone else find this video annoying? Just when he starts to talk about the city, he again "tries" to be funny and talks about game of thrones or some other irrelevant thing.
Made "White Elephant" looked small.
They Are Dumping US Dollar Reserves1!$ It's Better To Have Empty Buildings Than To Have Worthless Foreign Fiat Currency1!$
Im confused about the Game of Thrones thing.
Great video but loose the dumb ass movie references. D.A., J.D., NYC
Jailing political prisoners or keeping them under house arrest- something the USA does in spades- I fucking hate western media
Really. I mean still???
“Not because it’s an inner part of Mongolia, but because it’s a outer part of China.”
Jeff Bezos can buy it
The GDP is not even close to what is claimed. In China, the value for building are added more than twice which twice is already crazy. The value is added when the contract for a building is signed, when the contract for construction is signed, when the building is sold, and again when completed. It's bonkers. The real GDP of China is probably 3 trillion less than what's claimed
The jokes were amusing at first, but it got annoying real fast. It’s ok to crack a joke every minute or so, but every 10-15 second... it’s very very very annoying.
Can't see any way this could possibly go wrong
People really need to learn the difference between communism and a planned economy before making videos like these
China really gives no fucks about where it dumps it’s money
And they don't have to take in any illegal/legal refugees
$161,000 per person in case anybody wants to build a city but doesn't know how much it will cost.
wow
Can you do xyangyun internation project?
you say "buy" but i dont think they're actually "buying" them they are probably leased and the CCP as they always do just evict anyone they like whenever they want for land they want to reclaim as their own.
I bet they didn't build them to move the HKers there and put mainlanders in HK. Hmmm.
I find it so interesting and correct me if I have my facts are astray. Wasn't it the Chinees that were promoting "one child per family" years ago? And now they have cities empty....duha.
Well, at least it's not the Ryugyong Hotel ("of doom") in North Korea. 😅😂☺🚬
China is all smoke and mirrors keep pressure on then and they'll collapse
That’s a heavy no to dash line that gives China to all my passwords.
Central planning in a nutshell....what nonsense. China is only powerful because they’ve largely moved towards a market economy in many areas.
With the current flooding won't be hard to use now....jus a observation..
Speaks about chinese gob propaganda making your own "great" propaganda. Funny
You know what? This was planned to be a refugee camp for North Koreans.😎
Then the virus hit game over
China is a wonderland
Hahahaha nothing

Watching a bunch of ignorant people commenting about estate problem in China is the best joke I have seen for this week. Really, these people think they know China more than actual Chinese even though they never step their toes on China for half a second. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

How is the rate of informal economy in China?
Its built in order to syphon money into the pockets of the CCP.
What if - hear me out - we paid the Chinese 85 billion (half their cost) then ship all our prisoners there?
They should give city to me I will make 100 time GDP growth 100 time faster then USA 100 times develop then Japan
China just want to showoff their infrastructure but no proper maangement. Lot of are ghost cities there. In our INDIA we built giant smart cities and also it has lot of investments with people living there. Just be simple, world will be yours. Most countries want to showoff their strength. But remember country is judged upon their simplicity and tradition and culture. Not just spending huge money taking attention.
Doesn't even have a true word.
Rubbish. Ordos is thriving, as are all the other 'ghost cities' in China. Why? It took centuries for Western cities to fill out to their present size, but less than ten years for cities like Ordos. "Ordos Kangbashi was built between 2005 and 2010. It has sky scrapers, stadiums, a grand theater, museum and thousands of apartments. It is ready to house one million future residents. The documentary starts with a scene that shows how Mrs. Yuan, the community manager, guides people through their new homes. Some don’t know how to use modern toilets, stoves or heaters. Mrs. Yuan teaches them, and also shows them how the television works (“There are over 100 channels!“) These new surroundings are in stark contrast with those of a nearby village, where one farmer is working on the land. The houses are abandoned. “They all moved to the new city,” he says: “In the countryside, you can live for months without spending money”. The Land of Many Palaces shows that moving to one of China’s ‘ghost cities’ is not just about moving houses, it is about changing lifestyles. Farmers have to get used to living in the city and cope with all the things that come with it. Community staff members go to public places to teach them “how to become a civilized person”; telling people that good behaviour is the answer to Ordeos becoming a civilized city.“If the developers of the new city need your land, they will take it anyway.”Employment is a major problem in China’s new cities. Many farmers have ample experience in raising pigs and working on the land, but their experience is of no use in the urban environment where there is more need for hair stylists and shop attendants. The lack of jobs is one important reason why farmers don’t want to migrate from the countryside to the city.Center of Ordos. One film scene shows a village where only two farmers are left. The rest of the villagers have already moved to the city. Ordos’s community manager visits the farmers to convince them to trade their clay houses for an apartment flat. When they decline, she says: ““If the developers of the new city need your land, they will take it anyway.”“When we first visited Ordos in 2011, we expected to find a ghost city. Instead, we found a place that is becoming a city.”After the end of the film’s screening, Adam Smith takes questions from the audience. About the start of the project, he says: “When we first visited Ordos in 2011, we expected to find a ghost city. Instead, we found a place that is becoming a city.”Many of China’s so-called ghost cities look like ambitious dreams that turned into nightmares. “When we first started the project, we were somewhat indoctrinated by the general media reports in Europe and North America on how this top-down style of urbanization and city-building is wrong. But the more time we spent there, the more we started to think like the people there,” Smith says: “Nobody felt like what was going on was wrong. They were uplifted by the plan.”Smith explains how many people, ironically, were pushed out of the cities to the countryside during the Cultural Revolution. In many of these areas it was hard to farm, and people struggled to survive. In some way, being taken to the city is like being saved for many: “We met very few people, if any, who were opposed.”“Ghost cities are a hot topic, but ex-ghost cities are not.”Although ghost cities are a hot topic, ex-ghost cities are not. “When a ‘ghost city’ comes to life we barely hear about it anymore”, Shepard writes. Although many of China’s new cities are still virtually empty, there are also those that have now become busier. Shepard names a few example in his article such as Dantu (Zhejiang), Wujin (Changzhou), and perhaps the most famous one, Shanghai’s Pudong.“For the past few years I’ve been chasing reports of ghost cities around China, but I rarely ever find one that qualifies for this title. Though the international media claims that China is building cities for nobody, I often find something very different upon arrival”, Shepard writes.Earlier this year, Global Times and China Daily issued a statement from the mayor of Ordos on Sina Weibo, saying: “We are not a ghost city“. Over the past year 10,000 houses were sold, it says. That still leaves 34,000 houses empty.“They buy it to sell it, but none of those rich people actually live there,” one netizenresponds: “The mayor just doesn’t wanna lose face.”Other netizens say they like the city of Ordos: “The town is quite pretty, and the air is good,” user ‘392‘ writes. “I’ve just been to Ordos, and it’s really not as bad as the media says,” another netizen says: “The city is well-built, the air is good and it is safe.”One other Weibo user also seems to like Ordos: “Finally a place in China that is not crowded yet.”Maybe China’s ‘ghost cities’ are not that bad after all. They just might need another decade to really come to life".- For information about Wade Shepard’s book click here, and you can find his blog here.
All the dislikes must be from pathetic CCP trolls. Lowlifes 🤷🤷

Maybe you can only fantasize about it. This city called ghost town is developing very well now. www.zhihu.com/question/45495188
No point in using dashlane in the US. Everyday there are at least a dozen fortune 500 companies crying about how their unhackable security was compromised and hundreds of millions of user's information stolen. And this serves no deterrent against the US government since they have a backdoor key to every datacenter in the five eyes countries.
Homer propaganda is hilarious 🤣
It’s called money laundering lol
What if they have a secret lab below city who knows what they all are hiding😂😂
3:29 what What
This is China beginning it's immigration system. One day, they'll put all of the real estate in the "abandoned" cities up for sale and rent and they will destroy the global real estate industry
Those cities will be fill up soon so westerners need not worry about this.
The NY Times did a story similar to this about a decade ago. The city The Times called a ghost town is now full, as this one most likely will be in a few years. The "China builds ghost cities" trope makes for fun storytelling. But a story about how three years later the city is filled doesn't make it to ALthe, or the NY Times.
bae feng shao shao, shenje, shijen, jack maooo
Everything is fake in this country
Blind and biased. You should try to visit Ordors today and avoid to use pictures taken 7-8 years ago to support your opinion. It’s hard for your little brain to image how many people there are eager to move into new apartments, and how fast China is moving forwards.
better than homeless
it was design and build during the socialist era of China before 1980s were housing and lot are free to all citizens of the peoples republic after 1980 China transform socialist to capitalist were housing and lot are not free, so who would live up those housing when it is not free?
I hate this crap
I wish your jokes were funny.

Wow - someone needs to tell the Chinese middle class that buying an apartment isn't "investing in real estate." Only the land appreciates in value - the structure DEPRECIATES - and with an apartment, you don't own any of the land. And from other videos I've learned that the Chinese are HORRIBLE at maintaining things. If you're living in the apartment, no problem. But if you've purchased as an investment, it's almost certain to be a net loss.
I like how you keep shading GoT I also like GoT

The narrator is annoying. I couldn’t watch more than one minute due to his factual inaccuracy and flat attempts at jokes
It's just ugly built. Developers are usually notorious bad architects. They build space, not habitable environments. Many investors in Europe will also lose money on bad immobilia investment locations (hamster cages).
2020. we still get these type video
To save COMMUNISM...the government let the people play the ECONOMY...and nothing else...FREEDOM in an ILLUSION. Do as we say...not as we do...or else!
China does not make mistake they must have a good hidden plan.
I'm telling you, China is creating a big bubble. When it pops, it will cause a big recession.

PLEASE LIKE FOR AWARENESS. ALL CAPS BECAUSE I'M SHOUTING. THESE CITIES ARENT GHOST CITIES THEY ARE A CENTRALLY PLANNED ECONOMY AND BUILT AHEAD OF NEED AS CHINA IS THE FASTEST URBANISING COUNTRY IN THE WORLD !! IF YOU GO TO ANY GHOST CITY FROM 2 YEARS AGO IT WOULD BE NOW FULL!!!! IF YOU WERE INTELLEGENT YOU WILL REALISE THAT THE TWO ISSUES ARE CHEAP CONSTRUCTION (E.G. MUD-CEMENT) IN A MINORITY OF PRIVATE BUILDS IN CHINA AND THE ***WHERE*** A LOT OF THESE CITIES ARE BEING BUILT - IN NON HAN CHINESE AREAS TO BE SETTLED BY RURAL HANDS WHO BECOME URBANISED - E.G. IN TIBET, INNER MONGOLIA, MANTURIA ETC
Now all flood 😄😄😄
